The Collegium Musicum is a Maltese polyphonic choir founded in the late 1970's - early 1980's by Dr. Mro. Dion Buhagiar. It specializes in sacred music, and is the resident choir at St. John's Co-Cathedral in Valletta and the Cathedral of Mdina.

This year the Collegium Musicum Choir is celebrating its 25th Anniversary!

This year the Collegium Musicum is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Its official debut took place in the year 1983 with the performance of the Paukenmesse of Joseph Haydn. Since then the choir has given innumerable performances of the highest standard both in Malta and abroad.

The Collegium Musicum Choir shall be performing Charles Camilleri's Oratorio "Pawlu ta' Malta" as part of the events celebrating the Pauline Year on Friday 1st August at 7.15 p.m. at the Our Lady of Sorrows Parish Church in St. Paul's Bay under the distinguished patronage of H.E. Dr. Edward Fenech Adami, President of Malta.

 

As part of its 25th Anniversary celebrations, the Collegium Musicum Choir went on tour around Italy, singing in various churches including St. Peter's Basilica and the Lateran Basilica in Rome, the Papal Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli and the Basilica dedicated to Our Lady of Pompeii in Naples.
